About the project

Smart home solution with Home Assistant, Zigbee and Wi-Fi

The client wanted a central smart home system that respected privacy and controlled lighting, heating, window sensors and energy use without depending on the cloud. It needed to integrate Zigbee sensors and lights as well as Wi-Fi sockets and cameras, with simple controls.

We built a modular Home Assistant system running locally on an energy-efficient Intel NUC. It includes a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB network with over 25 devices, Wi-Fi sockets, cameras and voice control, a Lovelace touch dashboard, scene, schedule and presence automations, solar and energy-meter integration, and secure remote access through VPN without a cloud dependency.

Client feedback

I wanted a smart home that does not send my data elsewhere. Now I have full control: secure, local and flexible.
